How to do it
- Sit with your upper back against a bench and roll the bar over your hips.
- Plant your feet flat, about hip-width apart, knees bent.
- Drive through your heels to lift your hips until your body is level from shoulders to knees.
- Squeeze your glutes, then lower slowly.
Common mistakes
- Arching your lower back at the top instead of squeezing your glutes.
- Setting your feet so far out that your hamstrings take over.
